The Bully Within: For LJ

The Bully Within allows LJ’s name to be recognized. The opportunity to honor LJ, a child of God, through my story is heartwarming I pray that this book will remind you to implement The Golden Rule in your walk. Treat others, as you want to be treated. It is sometimes called an ethics of reciprocity, meaning that you should reciprocate to others how you would like them to treat you (not necessarily how they actually treat you). I hope this story will be used to help others model their lives for the good of others.Although the book is fictional, it includes some facets of my childhood, growing up in a small tobacco farming community in Southern Maryland. In 1965, I began school during the onset of desegregation of a predominately white school. This experience was memorable, and filled with challenges, which prepared me for the person I am today.This story contains facets of my spiritual journey to Christ. My faith plays an important role in my everyday life. Not just during times of joy but during times of distress and loneliness. My faith includes daily talks with Jesus to keep me alert, focused, and listening so I can discern what God has planned for my life. It also involves community for God wants us to be spiritual connected in our works. “The Bully Within,” is also a mixture of drama and exploration into social issues.I hope you enjoy this book and use the parental prologue and epilogue as guides to seek help as it relates to bullying and suicide prevention.
